Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center
R&D Center Planning
Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center is located at TW Solar Energy Shuangliu Base, west of Xihanggang Avenue and south of Shuangxing Avenue. The total planned area is 113,000 square meters (excluding supporting facilities), which has achieved short-and long-term planning of the Center, and completed one-time planning for living areas, R&D centers, comprehensive administrative areas and related supporting facilities. Relevant R&D supporting facilities: including supporting facilities such as metal processing and special gas.
Research directions include high-efficiency crystalline silicon cells and materials, high-efficiency and high-reliability modules, photovoltaic testing and analysis, new technologies, etc., with a particular focus on the development of core technologies and cutting-edge technologies in the fields of TNC, THC, TBC cells and modules, copper interconnection metallization, perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, new photovoltaic modules, etc. Furthermore, the Global Innovation R&D Center is committed to the analysis and characterization of materials and devices, reliability testing and evaluation of module products, etc.
HJT Copper Interconnection and
Perovskite Cell Integrated Workshop
Tongwei has built an integrated HJT copper interconnection and perovskite cell workshop with the largest workshop area, the highest production capacity, and the strongest upgradability. This workshop is suitable for the development of new technologies in the next 5 to 10 years.

Tongwei has built a module reliability laboratory with the largest standalone area, the most inclusive test items, and the highest level of intelligent automation, providing solid hardware support for the company’s R&D work.
High-efficiency Cells and Modules
The main R&D base of Tongwei‘s PV technology center is Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center. It’s located in Chengdu of Sichuan Province and has branches in cities including Hefei of Anhui Province. Currently, Tongwei has made important breakthroughs in mainstream technology fields such as TOPCon, HJT, BC, and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells.

Yongxiang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei Co., Ltd., has three provincial-level R&D platforms: Sichuan Provincial Polysilicon Engineering Technology Research Center, Sichuan Provincial High-Purity Crystalline Silicon Preparation Technology Engineering Lab, and Tongwei Semiconductor R&D Center.

High-purity Crystalline Silicon

Yongxiang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei, has established a polysilicon engineering technology research center, an enterprise technology center, a high-purity crystalline silicon preparation engineering lab, and a postdoctoral innovative practice base. By the end of May 2024, Yongxiang had applied for 952 patents and had 644 valid patents.
